14ft Trio Multi-Purpose-Boat Prices - January 2010
(including UK VAT at 17.5%)
The Standard Trio has a white glass fibre hull and buoyancy tanks, grey interior finish, low-maintenance oiled Iroko trim, and one pair of "Canadian-style" varnished pine paddles, priced at £2,295.
The Sailing Rig including mast, sprit, sail, rudder, tiller, leeboards etc is £1,100.
NEW! Lightweight Hull option. High-tech construction in carbon fibre and Kevlar (for stiffness and impact/abrasion resistance), laid up in epoxy over a high density foam core, saving about 22kg overall. The hull itself becomes slightly buoyant - effectively unsinkable even if you hole the buoyancy tanks - and the reduced weight makes a lot of difference when handling, particularly on the middle section. £1,020 (extra)
Some often-specified options on the Trio (including fittings/labour etc as applicable):
- Coloured Hull. Can look very pretty, especially in dark colours, but will show scratches more easily, £65
- Teak woodwork. Upgrade from standard Iroko. Iroko needs oiling (not a difficult job) from time-to-time to reduce the chance of cracks/splits; Teak can be oiled but does not need it (weathering to a silver grey colour) and is ultimately harder and more durable. £300
- Rubber Fendering around gunwhales £220;
- Keel Wear Strip, brass, including additional filling of keel recess etc £140; (or teak £130)
- Bilge Runner protection strips either side of keel on mid-section, in teak, £110; brass protection strips on the bottom of the two runners are an extra £50
- Deluxe Paddles. There is nothing wrong with the standard paddles but these look and handle even better, being 20% lighter, with slightly wider blades made from Aspen with contrasting dark Alderwood inserts. Upgrade cost (first pair) £26; Additional deluxe paddles (spare etc) £37 each. (Additional standard paddles £24 each)
- Chromed rowlocks and sockets, with pair of 6ft varnished pine oars. First set, in lieu of standard paddles £48; Second set, for additional rowing position, £96
- Captive Folding Rowlocks (see here: Folding Rowlocks) instead of rowlocks/sockets listed above, additional cost per pair £52
- Rowing Outriggers These can be fitted for either or both rowing positions, supplied with quick release wing nuts, instead of, or in addition to, rowlocks. They make a big difference if you envisage rowing for pleasure. £110 per pair. With outriggers you can use 7ft oars, £62 per pair.
- Access Hatches in buoyancy tanks. Various options but as an example a 6" screw-type would be £26 each, including cutting the hole, reinforcing, bonding etc. Generally speaking customers specify one at the bow and two at the stern (ie one each side). In the bow tank if required there is room for a larger 8" hatch with lock, £38.
- Standard Mooring Cleats including bonded reinforcing £24 each. Typically we fit one on the bow and two (one each side) at the stern.
- Folding Cleats (pictures here: Folding Cleats), flush with gunwhales in folded position, £35 each including fitting, or £100 for three (one bow, two at stern). They do look rather nice!
If you are very keen on rowing we can obtain handcrafted spoon blade oars, £poa (not cheap but lovely to use).
Please contact us by phone (07768 600595) or email (mail@nestawayboats.com) if you wish to discuss the specification of your boat and/or the options required are not listed above.
