This page shows the towbar carrying platform with our 8ft Pram dinghy,
but it also works for our 8 and 9ft Stem dinghies, and any two sections of
the 14ft Trio (the third would probably have to go inside the vehicle, but
if this is the bow then it is usually easy).

It is much easier to load than a roof rack, as you only have to lift half the
boat at a time, and the base itself is only about a foot above the ground.
This makes it perfectly viable to do on your own.
These photos show a rather nice carbon fibre version of the Pram Dinghy
(with many options including teak decking on the bow and stern buoyancy
tanks), mounted on the back of a customer's Volkswagen T5 Camper.

We custom-make an adapter that attaches to the EasyBase, so that the stern section of the boat can be securely bolted on (using the standard joining bolts and holes in the joining bulkhead). The bow section is then nested into the stern, and held there using stainless steel ratchets/ webbing straps. As the standard EasyBase comes complete with towbar mount and electrics, all you need to add is a numberplate. |

Total price of this set-up, including the EasyBase, our custom adapter,
the stainless steel ratchet straps and small modifications to the boat to
secure the straps in place, is £320.
